Paul takes a "SKY TRIP" with Patrick and Claudia

One beautiful Monday afternoon Paul took Patrick and Claudia on a cross-country trip in his Cessna to go visit Grandmommie Uhlenkott, Kristina, Jacob, and Uncle Erik up at Franciscan University! They had a very nice time and spent the night at Kristina's house. The next morning Paul had to manuver through some very big clouds on their way home....but he is a great pilot and he flew them all safely home!

Christopher Paul's Baptism and more

We had Christopher Paul's Baptism on Saturday August 19th. Peter and Melissa were his Godparents. Peter flew his Jet up for the baptism so alot of us were able to go see Peter take off in his jet!~!!! Melissa, Sean and Grace were unable to fit in the cockpit so Nanny Hickson stood in as the GodMother for Melissa. We had a very nice day and we were able to celebrate with family and friends. It was very nice to have Fr. Aiden do the baptism.

Cape Cod 2007

We had a wonderful little vacation up in Cape Cod. We played on the beach, played volleyball, went sailing, enjoyed an evening at the famous Chatham band concert and the local Baseball games.

The day before Christopher was born we went on a hike with Aunt Anna, uncle David and Uncle Erik to some great waterfalls. We slid down the slippery rocks into the nice pools of water, until daddy and Declan had to escape from a water mocasin!

4th of July!!

We had a big BBQ with friends over to celebrate the 4th. We went swimming in the lake, played on the swing set, and had fireworks!

Paul and Declan Visit Idaho!!

Paul and Declan got away for a couple of days to visit the family in Idaho, especially Pappa, who was recovering from a car accident. Declan loved playing with his cousins and especially just hanging out with daddy. They had a wonderful visit.

Little "Soldier's Angels"

Here Patrick and Claudia are helping Aunt Anna with her "Soldier's Angels", a program to help out and support our soldiers. They helped make 'goodie bags' and handed them out to the soldiers before they got on the bus heading out on their deployment to Iraq. They were great little helpers and made alot of our soldiers so happy! Hanging out in the ferns! Yeehaa!

Patrick who will be 5 in September is a wonderful big brother. He is such a help and a good boy all around. We are so proud of you Patrick.

Our sweet Declan now 18 months old is Mr. Personality. He loves to keep up with big brother and sister and does a great job keeping up with them. He is a determined little guy.

Summer fun!

We have had a wonderful summer so far. One day we went hiking with Aunt Bridget to a near by lake and Apalachain trails.

Trip to Massunutten Resort with Aunt Bridget

Aunt Bridget took the kiddos and myself to beautiful Massunutten resort for the weekend. We had a wonderful time! We went on some beautiful waterfall, river hikes. We had a blast in the huge indoor water park on all the slides, rafts, and pools and the kiddos met some great little friends on some of the many palygrounds! Thank you Auntie Bridget!!!

Marchin into Spring!

Patrick and Declan wanted to proundly announce that they found out that they will be having a little brother. As of now he is due to come July 16th!

We have had some wonderful spring weather. The daffodils are blooming and the days are longer.


Patrick , Claudia and Declan love playing outside and going on walks...especially adventure hikes around Nanny's property of hikes to Skyline Drive.

We also have gone to lots of playgrounds while we wait to set up our own swing set at Nanny's house!

Our Visit to Florida!!

In early February we took a road trip down to visit Peter and Melissa and Sean in Florida. It was very nice to escape some of the cold weather of VA and enjoy the warm sunny weather of Florida. We visited Peter's base and saw the planes he trained in. It was really neat to visit the military bases and see all the big jets and helicopters.




We spent some wonderful time on the beaches. Patrick and Claudia really loved the beach!The water was cold but they got wet especially Patrick. They had fun building sand castles and collecting seashells. It was great to see little (Big) Sean. He is adorable and the kidos really enjoyed playing with their Hickson cousin. It was a very enjoyable roadtrip all together

What a Co-Pilot

After many hours of training and lots of time spent up in the beautiful skies Paul received his Pilot's liscense. He was able to complete everything in a very short time period and he did exceedingly well. We are all very proud of him. I was able to go flying with him on a beautiful clear saturday morning. Paul is a great pilot!. Patrick and Claudia were also able to go flying with daddy....Patrick especially loved flying and co-piloting.

Christmas 2006

We had a wonderful Christmas here in Virginia. The whole Hickson Family was here except for Aunt Mary Pat whom we greatly missed. Peter, Melissa, and Sean came the day after Christmas for a couple of days.

Fall Fun!

Finally we can update our blog. Here we are living out here in beautiful Virginia at Nanny Hickson's House. Everything is going well. Paul has about 3 more weeks of school and he has been doing alot of Flying...on his way to a pilot's Liscense Then he can reapply to teh Coast Guard Pilot program. Patrick, Claudia and Declan are growing up so much. Patrick and Claudia are best of buddies and really help out with little Declan.
We have had a beautiful Fall. The weather has been beautiful and we have had some great visitors. Uncle Peter, Melissa and Sean came the first weekend of November and they anounced that Sean was a big brother!!! We are so happy for them. Melissa and Sean were able to stay for an extra week.
We also had a visit from Tom and Darci Byrnes (with little Tom and Mary Grace ) after Tom ran the Marine Marathon! What a wonderful visit!

Summer Fun and Fall Festivities

Finnally we update our blog. Here are a few pictures of what we ahve been up to.
We are still living out here in Virginia at Nanny Hickson's house. Paul has about 4 more weeks of school left and then he can reapply to the Coast Guard Pilot program. He is very busy with school, work and Flying. Patrick Claudia and Declan are all getting so much bigger and growing up. Patrick and Claudia are usually inseperable little play buddies and they are both big helpers for taking care of Little brother Declan.
